According to Mundo Deportivo, Espanyol fans insulted Juan Garcia during the game, and the Spanish Football Association will decide whether to launch an investigation. This summer, Barcelona paid a release fee of 25 million euros to sign goalkeeper Juan Garcia from Espanyol.

La Liga submitted its weekly match report to the Spanish Football Federation and the Anti-Violence Committee on Tuesday, which included a number of high-profile incidents. Especially during Espanyol's match against Elche last Saturday, some home fans issued threatening chants to Barcelona goalkeeper Juan Garcia.

The report pointed out that in the 35th minute of the game, fans in areas 109, 110 and 111 of the stands on one side of the stadium, as well as the fan group belonging to the "Canito Stand", chanted "We want Juan's head" in unison, which lasted for about 20 seconds. The conduct was documented and the Spanish Football Federation's disciplinary committee will decide whether to launch a special investigation into the matter.

In addition, the report also mentioned that Elche fans made insulting shouts against the Barcelona club. They chanted "Barcelona bitch" in unison for 15 seconds and received support from local fans in different areas of the stadium.

Throughout the game, messages in Spanish and Catalan were played on the stadium's big screens reminding fans to comply with current sports violence prevention regulations, which prohibit and punish participation in violent, xenophobic, homophobic or racist behavior.
