The exclusive business partner of the Saudi Football Association, SMC Group, signed an agreement with SUM KM Sport, under which Hong Kong, China will host the 2025 Saudi Super Cup, and the competition is scheduled to be held from August 19 to 23, 2025. The participating teams include four clubs, Jeddah United, Katicia, Riyadh Crescent and Riyadh Victory. This move reflects the global expansion of the event and enhances Saudi football's international status.

Previously, a Saudi source revealed that the condition for China to host this competition is that Ronaldo must play. Ronaldo has previously publicly stated that he will stay in the team.

There are 4 teams participating in the Saudi Super Cup, and the participating teams are the champion and runner-up of the Saudi League and the Cup. The participating teams in this year are Saudi United champion Jeddah United, runner-up Riyadh Crescent, and Caticia, who advanced to the Sand Crown final.
