A Bayern club spokesman told Bild that Jerome Boateng returned to Bayern to observe training, not to work.
Boateng originally planned to return to Bayern for a coaching internship and obtained permission from the club and Kompany. However, he was boycotted and criticized by some Bayern fans because he was accused of assaulting his ex-girlfriend. An online petition not to allow Boateng to return to Bayern has been signed by thousands of people.
A Bayern club spokesman told Bild: "Boateng asked the coach if he could observe our training for a few days. This is not a job."
"If the coach gives him such an opportunity and the time is right, we will not object."
