The Times reported that only when Liverpool continues to win the championship in the top competitions will the floating prizes in the Wiltz transfer be activated.
After three weeks of negotiations, Liverpool and Leverkusen reached a record transfer agreement for Wilz with a total price of £116 million, a deal that could set a record-breaking UK transfer fee record demonstrates the ambition of the Premier League champion.
Transfer fees consist of a fixed amount of £100 million and a floating clause of up to £16 million. The Times said that all additional clauses will be activated only when Liverpool continues to win the championship in top-tier events. This will put Wiltz's total transfer fee on the market expected to surpass the current record of £115 million paid by Chelsea for Kesedo to Brighton in August 2023.
