According to Sky Sports Germany, the amount of the stepped release clause in Leipzig left-back Laum's contract will continue to decrease. Next summer, the amount will drop from the current approximately 50 million euros to less than 40 million euros.
It is reported that this clause took effect one year after Laum signed the contract, with the initial amount reaching more than 70 million euros and decreasing year by year.
Although Laum's contract does not expire until 2027 and there is no time pressure, Leipzig has planned to start contract extension negotiations with the German international, but active dialogue has not yet begun.
