According to French media footmercato, Paris is close to signing 23-year-old Lille goalkeeper Cyvalier for 40 million euros to deal with Donnarumma's possible departure.
Previously, Donnarumma's contract renewal negotiations have been deadlocked in the past few weeks, so Paris decided to speed up another deal. Although the outside world generally expects positive progress in the renewal negotiations with Donnarumma, the Paris transfer team still chooses to pursue Chevalier with all their might.
After reaching a five-year principled contract with Chevalier, Paris also agreed with Lille. It is reported that the clubs of both sides have reached an oral agreement.
Paris agreed to the price offered by Lille and would pay 40 million euros for Chevalier. On the other hand, Donnarumma may pack his bags and leave the team soon, and the Italians are being chased by buyers from multiple parties such as Galatasaray and Saudi clubs. Now, Lille needs to find a replacement for Chevalier and finalize the transfer with Paris.
Chevalier, 23, made 34 appearances in the league last season for Lille and contributed 11 clean sheets. The player's current value is 30 million euros.
