Leverkusen lost to Flamengo U20 youth team 1-5 in a friendly match, and Leverkusen midfielder Hoffman was interviewed by the media after the game.
"Obviously we need to improve. The score of 1-5 sounds cruel, and we have to admit it. We lost the ball too easily and too fast. Even if it was just a friendly match, the goal was to win, and we gave up the game too early. Of course, poor venue conditions were one of the factors, but at the end of the day, I think we need to work hard on our own level."
"The team has not found the rhythm yet and is just starting out. We emphasized some basic principles in our training, I slightly polished the foundation, and the whole team only had a few days to train together, so we will continue to work hard and there are still many places to improve."
" There are many young players on the court. As professional players, we certainly need to adapt to the coach's new tactical style more deeply, conduct a few more training sessions, spend more time together to run in, and continue to polish the important basic links in football. We will enter a more detailed training stage, and I believe and hope that the team can make progress every week."
