Scored 66 goals in a single game! Head coach of Hamburg amateur team in Germany: There are 7 players left in the starting lineup, some are at work and some are injured

Last week in the Hamburg Regional League in Germany, the Molberg team suffered a record-breaking 0-66 defeat. Moorberg head coach Patrick Stritsky was interviewed by the media and responded to related topics.
Mr. Stritsky, can you briefly describe the situation at that time? Why were the teams short-numbered to begin with?
Our lineup is uneven, with only 16 or 17 people, so once three or four people are suddenly injured, one has to go to work, and then two more people are temporarily sick, you will feel the impact immediately. The night before the game, we finally gathered 11 people. As a result, I received a sick note at night, another one in the morning, and two pending players were eventually absent. There were only seven of us left at once, so I asked the remaining people: "Do you want to play? If you don't want to, I won't blame you!"
They obviously wanted to play...
Soon I received replies: "I'm interested", "I have to play", "What? There are only seven people, that's meaningless! I'll do it", "Let's get it done together".
And the opponent is the league leader
We all know that if we don't play, the season will be over because we have had a game interruption before that was judged by the sports court to be our responsibility. So, in a way, we were forced to show up to avoid being disqualified.
In addition to the six male players, there is also a female player on the field.
I don’t differentiate between men and women at all, because as long as the players give everything, I am satisfied. Sarah is very reliable and always gives her best. What's interesting is that she's also a little "bonus" and you wouldn't believe how difficult it is for male players to face her, sometimes making mistakes in confrontations that they wouldn't normally make because they're afraid of losing to a woman.
Let's talk about competition. How does the competition proceed? Why not stick to the defense completely at some point?
In the first half we tried to resist defensively. We gave up on that idea in the second half, leaving only the goalkeeper and one defender behind, and the rest went to attack, hoping to score a face-saving goal.
I did the math and found that on average there is a goal every 82 seconds. Did your opponent miss any opportunities?
In the middle of the second half, unfortunately our goalkeeper injured his foot and our forward was also injured, so the defense in the second half was basically non-existent. Without our goalie, the score would have been triple digits. After he was injured, he could only stand in front of the goal and watch the ball roll in again and again. Our striker could only find a place to stand.
How do opponents react to this unusual situation?
Our opponents respect us very much. They thought it was amazing that we stayed the course. Although the referee also asked us if we wanted to continue, and the Mesopotamian team also offered to end the game early. But we didn't want to do that because the risk was too high and we were worried about getting a not-out anyway.
In other words, giving up is not an option?
If someone is injured during the game, the referee must interrupt the game, and then the competition committee will decide how to award the penalty. We didn't want to take that risk throughout the game. So it was clear from the beginning that if we went out there we would see it through to the end! In other words, it is certain that the Mesopotamian team will win, and of course the score is so high only because of those two injuries. Otherwise, 20 fewer goals may be conceded.
Were the Mesopotamian teams unsympathetic?
The opponent goes all out. Afterwards, I read that they seemed to have conflicts with the sports court, and they just wanted to express their attitude. We’re okay with that, it’s all good… but of course we’d love to score a goal!
This doesn't sound like a frustrating experience
Not at all. All in all, we had a great time and there was no pressure after all. Just trying to see what can be done. Heel, flower work, one-two.
This is not the first time you have failed miserably. You lost 53-2 in the cup last season. Why do players put up with this week after week?
To put it simply and clearly, we just want to play football. We are not playing in the Bundesliga. If anyone plays with a life-and-death mentality, then he is completely wrong in the regional league team! At the end of the day, isn't it just about playing football with your team and having fun? Occasionally, you may be able to score a few points, or learn from experience and think about what you can do better. Just experience this kind of collective life!
In online comments, some people accused you of often deliberately losing so many games to gain attention. What is your comment on this?
Yes, that's absolutely true, because we're so bored! No, just kidding! I'm not interested in that kind of talk, and I don't think the club is, nor anyone in their right mind. If this makes those people happy and adds a little joy to their lives, then I'm happy for them too!
You are currently at the bottom of the standings: seven games, seven losses, and a minus-114 goal difference.
Our goal is to get one point or three points, everything else doesn't matter. That is, if I lose one game 0-100 but win the rest, who cares? Or maybe we lose all the games but sweep the leaders out in the last game, wouldn't that be cool too? Goal difference doesn't matter to us at all, we can't be first or second anyway.
