Mi Sports: The Italian Referees Association determined that the penalty kick awarded to Inter Milan was a misjudgment, and the referee team will stop the whistle.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Italian Referees Association determined that the penalty awarded to Naples in the 3-1 Inter Milan match was a misjudgment.

The referee Mariani on duty made a mistake, and the assistant referee Bindoni made a more serious mistake because it was he who reminded the referee of the penalty kick. This is the conclusion reached by the top management of the AIA (Italian Referees Association) after re-examining last night's Naples 3-1 Inter Milan game.

The assistant referee suggested that the referee was completely wrong to call a penalty kick. This decision was entirely the mistake of the first assistant referee. Then the referee almost blindly awarded a penalty kick 8 seconds after the game restarted because of the contact between Mkhitaryan and Di Lorenzo.

This all happened in the 42nd minute of the game, when Mkhitaryan entered the penalty area and made contact with the outstretched leg of Napoli defender Di Lorenzo. The penalty did not exist as the contact was minor and should not have been awarded.

So what did VAR do? Referee Mariani reviewed the decision and upheld the penalty. Relatively speaking, he is the party with less responsibility, but in any case, this is a penalty that should not be awarded at all.

The two men just returned from Chile not long ago, and this week they also officiated the World Youth Championship finals. They may face some days on the bench, and assistant referee Bindoni's situation may be more serious than the head referee.

Rotate referees

In the next league, the above two people may be replaced by Abiso and Marinelli. They performed in the match between Milan and Fiorentina. In that game, the referee did not see the Florence player touching the face of the Milan player with his arm. The referee said: "I saw his arm, but he didn't touch it", but in fact Abiso pointed out that "he did touch it and caught it."

If this is the case, this should be considered a referee rotation rather than a suspension.
