Sel Radio reported that sponsor Spotify negotiated with Barcelona for four years of contract renewal, with an annual sponsorship fee of 65 million euros.
Barcelona and Spotify's partnership satisfy both parties. The streaming platform has appeared in the chest advertising space of the first team jerseys of Barcelona men's and women's football teams for the fourth consecutive season, and is also the last season of the original contract period. Despite this, the cooperation between the two sides will continue.
It is reported that Spotify has conveyed its wish to Barcelona, hoping to continue to serve as a jersey chest advertising sponsor for four seasons from 2026/27 to 2029/30. According to the agreement, the platform needs to inform the club whether to exercise the renewal right before July 1, and they have officially confirmed their intention to renew the contract. Barcelona and Spotify are currently negotiating on the implementation details of the renewal option signed in 2022.
In the past four seasons, Spotify has paid 57.5 million euros sponsorship fees for jersey chest advertising, plus 5 million euros in training suit advertising fees. However, the training suit sponsorship agreement expired on June 30 this year, and the brand logo is still retained on the clothing.
Under the terms of the contract, the renewal option signed by the club and Spotify ensures that Barcelona receives 65 million euros in annual competition service sponsorship income, and also includes options for expanding training service advertisements: 10 million euros on chest advertisements and 5 million euros on back advertisements (now sponsored by Congo). If you purchase the front and back advertising spaces at the same time, you will need to pay 15 million euros.
Whether the final amount will be adjusted remains to be seen. Barcelona believes that with Yamal's explosive growth and the team's return to the championship ranks in various competitions, the commercial value of the jersey has exceeded 65 million euros.
