US News: Lacob and other Warriors senior executives hope Kumingga will return, but he may be traded next February

Today, Brett Siegel, a U.S. journalist, wrote an article about the recent situation in the free market.
According to sources, Kumingga is likely to return to the Warriors. Many senior executives, including team owner Joe Lacob, hope that Kumingga can return. Despite this, other NBA teams generally believe that although Kuminga will return to the Warriors, both sides have a tacit understanding and he will be traded before the trade deadline in February next year.
There is currently little interest in Kumingga in the market, so it will be beneficial for both sides to get him back to the Warriors in the short term. Kumingga can prove his worth in the first few months of the 2025-26 season and regain the attention of other teams in the league; while the Warriors can make the most of his full salary instead of using only 50% of his salary when signing first and then switching.
