Today's Warriors coach Cole talked about himself and Curry while on the Glue Guys Podcast podcast.
Kele has coached the Warriors for 11 years, and it has been a rare long time in today's game, and he attributes it all to Stephen Curry. "I know very well that I can still be here because Stephen Curry is still on the team, I'm not humble, I'm just telling the truth."
"Popovich is one of my best friends and mentors, and every time we have dinner together, he raises his glass and says 'Cheers to Duncan' and everyone raises his glass and it's sincere, essentially he's telling us 'We can get here because the draft favors us, and lets us get Duncan, and everyone else doesn't have that luck.'" Cole added.
Cole knew that it was also a blessing to be able to coach the greatest shooter in history. "That's how I feel about Stephen, without Stephen, I would have coached somewhere else after a few years. So I was very lucky to have this partnership with Stephen, and he brought stability and continuity to the team and made everyone's job easier," Cole said.
