Jimmy’s golf IQ; Philadelphia Thunder continue undefeated; Giannis’ forest
9:44pm, 29 October 2025Basketball
Philadelphia defeated the Wizards and won four consecutive games to start the season.
Maxi scored 150 points in four games and scored 39 points today. A 6-point, 2-assist comeback in the last three minutes of regular time, and two strong spurts in the last minute of overtime - Bona added one - saved the game.
After Grimes killed the Hornets with a three-pointer, he made another block and a three-pointer today to force overtime. Even Embiid scored 25 points in 23 minutes.
The only regret is that VJ only had 14+6+4 today - compared to other rookies, it was a comprehensive performance, but with his skyline starting point, is this considered average?
"Embid and George, please be serious about your rehabilitation! Philadelphia is No. 1 in the East!!"

Alexander vs. Westbrook, the two superstars in the history of the Thunder faced off, and Alexander won.
The Thunder were missing their second and third best players - Jaywee and Chet - and struggled to catch up. In the end, Dortmund, Caruso and Alexander reversed three long-range shots from the same position on the right wing.
Aja Mitchell continues to surprise: He scored more than 14 points in all five games of the first season. Today, at the end of the third quarter, he hit a three-pointer from the frontcourt and made a layup on the countdown in the fourth quarter. What a clever little guy.
Westbrook started with 4 three-pointers. So far this season, he has made 9 of 18 three-pointers - only one missed three at the last moment, and Dortmund returned one.
Jiewei hasn’t played yet. Caruso missed the last game and gave up Chet today.
The Thunder have not lost a game so far.

The Bucks kill the Knicks...will Giannis not want to go to New York?
The Knicks had their best performance of the season in the first half, but the highlights were Shamei and Clarkson.
Coach Mike Brown's new style of play - two-guard handoffs and multiple interspersions - is suitable for Brunson, Ohashi, Shamei and Clarkson, but OG and Towns do not fit in well, especially Towns who is basically used as a fortress.
The Bucks began to switch defenses a lot. When Kuzma went to confront Towns, the Knicks were embarrassed: the flow stopped, and Towns and Hart were both free.
Towns was a little unhappy after the game and wondered if there was anything going on in the locker room.
The Bucks are slightly similar to the Spurs: Giannis and Wenban both dribbled the ball across the half court many times, immediately launched an attack as soon as they reached the top of the arc, and then turned to the wing to attack. Giannis' back-up position will be blocked, but the Bucks' simple and crude transfer of three-pointers and frontcourt height won: Kuzma and Turner couldn't make a shot, but they, together with Giannis and Portis, suffocated the Knicks with their frontcourt height. So the Knicks could only practice Brunson and Bridge.
After the Bucks got rid of Lopez and Lillard, they became a bit like the Eastern version of the Timberwolves/Rockets: dense forest forwards, tough defense, three-pointers, and physical fitness.
"Let's plant a forest around Giannis!"
What's more stable than the Timberwolves and Rockets is that the Bucks have Giannis as a guarantee:
After today, Giannis is averaging 36 points, 14 rebounds and 7 assists per game.
According to the most demanding standards, he is still the No. 1 player in the Eastern Conference for the eighth consecutive year.

The Warriors beat the Clippers. The conclusion of Jimmy Curry, Harden and Leonard’s old friend’s golf business seminar is: Cole’s system is a question of good or bad; Lue’s system is a question of presence or absence.
The most brutal comparison: By the end of one and a half quarters, the Clippers had scored 13 goals and the Warriors had 14 assists. The Warriors-Clippers assist ratio: 24 to 10.
Before today, Harden was fifth in the league in assists—Fourth in Dream Chaser—and today: Harden had 1 assist.
It's not that Harden doesn't pass, it's that the Warriors switch defenses a lot, asking Harden and Leonard to duel; shrinking the weak side and suppressing the ball space.
If the Clippers have a weak-side killer, a sharp shooter, and a rebounding demon, the Warriors will be defeated-but the Clippers have Zubac (6 offensive rebounds) to make the Warriors pay a price. Bogdan only played for a while today, and the Clippers' secondary ball handler made matters worse.
There is a price to pay for switching defenses against Harden: Harden was repeatedly switched by Horford and his team in the first half, scoring 20 points; but in the second half, the Warriors switched defenses, flanked and weakened the side, taking away Harden's threat.
Probably the Clippers' system last season was nothing more than the duo of Harden + Zubac, Powell's weak side attack, and Leonard taking over.
There is no weak side today, and the defense change paralyzed Hazu's connection, leaving only a one-on-one challenge, so that's it.
The Warriors' system is very clear: pass and cut.
The new tricks this season are mainly Kuminga: Kuminga has averaged 18 points (not new), 8 rebounds (oh?!) and 4 assists per game so far this season.
Curry has more passing hands than last year; Jimmy is still the main point guard when Curry is away, but Kuminga's positioning has changed: before, he was always a unilateral attacker. When paired with the starter this season, he often forms a double line with Curry: attacking the basket from the weak side, playing hand-offs, and playing two-man games.
That is: Dream Chaser and Jimmy go to the wing and let Kuminga play on the top line.
On the defensive end, Kuminga often leads the defense: this season, he defended Luka for 16 points on 12 shots, Gordon for 13 points on 6 shots, Morant for 6 points on 3 shots, and Murray for 6 points on 3 shots. The opponent he defended made 70 points on 53 shots and a shooting percentage of 53%, but this is the price the Warriors are willing to pay. If Kuminga's help defense is not good, let him lead the defense and let Dream Chaser (and Horford/Post) protect the inside.
It works like this today. Kuminga scored 7 points early. In the second quarter, Boji started: three-pointers, chasing Paul, and layups to open up 10 points.
Horford + Dream Chaser blocked Harden + Lopez, and Jimmy defended Leonard.
But then Kuminga began to be targeted by the Clippers: The Clippers used Zubac to defend Kuminga, "You have the ability to kill me? If you don't get to the basket, I will kill you!" On the defensive end, Kuminga was teased by Harden. After an attempted breakthrough at the top of the arc, Harden chased him and shot a long shot, and the Clippers took the lead..
So Curry and Jimmy showed their sophistication: Are young people being targeted? Let's go.
Curry obviously understood the Clippers' fear of him. In the second half, Curry first fed Post a long shot, and set the pace in one breath: breakthroughs, free throws, and a lead of 60-57. He fed Kuminga a no-look layup, which meant "I know you are going to deal with my perimeter, and I know you will leak the back door."
Then Jimmy.
Zubac retreated, so Jimmy came up and made a three-pointer: Kuminga doesn't shoot for you, I will shoot for you.
Leonard had previously found Zubac to cut inside, and Curry immediately cut off Zubac's pass and counterattacked for a layup, stopping the Clippers.
Then it's Jimmy's show time.
Jimmy’s golf quotient lies in choosing between you and me. The Clippers shrank, and he immediately made another three-pointer. The Clippers were on defense, and he immediately cut in and opened up by 10 points. After Moody chased a long shot, Jimmy fed Bojie for a layup, opening up 15 points.
Opposite him was his old rival Lopez, and Jimmy fired a shot across Lopez's fingertips.
The Clippers flanked Jimmy, and Jimmy fed Post a long shot.
Jimmy counterattacked, stepped through the fake move, and fed Moody's long shot from the bottom corner.
named Lopez and made an emergency stop shot, opening up 20 points.
Named Harden, broke through, attracted Lopez to attack from a double attack, and fed Dream Chasing for a layup, 90 to 70.
The game is over.
The process is roughly like this:
Harden and Leonard's duel maintained the balance in the first half. In the second half, Curry led the situation to overtake, and Jimmy led the second team to open up 20 points to close the game. Leonard + Harden scored 38 points on 32 shots, Curry + Jimmy scored 39 points on 27 shots, assists: 13 by the Warriors' senior two, 2 by the opponent.
Facing defense changes and strong-side contraction, Harden and Leonard can only fight one by one: their teammates won't run.
In addition to the Warriors' defense changes today, aggressive strong-side contraction is the key: Chasing Dream and Curry's quick hands (the two of them had 5 steals), Hield switching to guard Lopez without the ball more than once, Moody's tough single defense in the second half, and so on.
So Curry and Jimmy basically had to choose between you and me:
You put the basket and I look for an inside cut, you shrink and I look for a three-pointer: teammates also responded one by one.

Today Jimmy scored 21 points on 12 shots and 0 free throws: This is Jimmy's first game with 0 free throws in 11 months. By the way, Alexander next door made 2 free throws on 26 shots today and 8 free throws on 65 shots in the past three games. Against Zubac and Lopez, guarding the basket: Jimmy just shot.
And: three three-pointers - the last time he scored three three-pointers in a single game was a year and a half ago:
"I know you are waiting for me to break through and want to shoot free throws instead of shooting three-pointers-so I will shoot three-pointers for you."
"You choose me."
