Today, Mavericks player Christie was interviewed while attending the event.
Speaking about his reunion with Russell in Dallas, Christie said: "I'm very happy. I called him as soon as I heard the news. He is one of my closest friends and teammates. We have been together in Los Angeles for two years and I respect him very much. I admire a lot of his stuff and learn a lot from his playing style, the temperament of the field and the way he plays. I'm so happy to be able to play side by side with him again."
