Famous reporter: Pelinkaredic meets Doncic in May to confirm that he is the Lakers facade, James is not here

Yesterday, ESPN famous reporters Ramona Shelburne and Brian Windhorst jointly wrote an article about the situation of the Lakers.
On May 3 this year, four days after the Lakers were eliminated in the first round, Doncic, Doncic's business manager Lara Beth Seager, Lakers general manager Pelinka and Lakers coach Redick met at the Craig restaurant in Los Angeles.
James, the core figure of every decision and strategy of the Lakers in the past seven years, did not attend this meeting.
Redick, Pelinka and Seager enter the restaurant through the front door, while Doncic enters through the back door.
But after the meeting, all four left through the front door, some photojournalists and fans saw them and took videos, which quickly spread to TMZ and social media, and Doncic also stopped to sign some fans.
The purpose of this meeting is as clear as their choice when they walked out of the restaurant: Doncic is now the Lakers' storefront, and the Lakers want him and everyone else to know this.
Sources revealed that during the meeting, Pelinka and Redick not only elaborated on the strategy of building a team around Doncic, but also talked about the complexity of the new labor-capital agreement and how they plan to deal with it. The wine in the meeting may help Doncic digest some obscure things that Pelinka explained to him, such as the second rich line, retaining the salary space to help him have the value of a star of the right age and partner with him, as well as the Lakers' remaining draft pick assets. Pelinka uses this as a working meal and also brings a very thick folder with him.
The folder contains the Lakers' offseason plans, long-term strategies and vision. It was often used to be used in meetings between the Lakers and James. In the target list listed in it, some players were eventually introduced by the Lakers, such as Thomas and Westbrook, while others were ultimately unable to be introduced.
