James: NBA should set up the offensive player of the year award, just like the NFL

Recently, James talked about the NFL's offensive player of the year in the "Brain of the Field" program, and said that the NBA can actually learn from it.
"I did think about the way the NFL (Major League) selects the ‘Occurrence Player of the Year’ and ‘Most Valuable Player of the Year’. I thought that this might also be applied to our league, with a ‘Occurrence Player of the Year’ and a ‘Most Valuable Player of the Year’, which would bring some distinction and change. It's like, OK, should an award be given to the best player? Or should it be given to the best player in the league? Perhaps the latter is more suitable for the ‘Occurrence Player of the Year’. Or should an award be given to the best player in the league (best player in the league, statistically)? But obviously, if someone's team can't even touch the threshold for the playoffs, he will not be selected... In that case, he will not be called 'the most valuable'." James said.
