Although nothing has been finalized, Lyon Villepinte is also at risk of being expelled from UEFA EuroBasket because they failed to meet the financial requirements of the A-level license - that is, the minimum total salary of the team's players is 5.85 million euros, or equivalent to 30% of the average income of the A-license club.

According to public data from the French Professional League, ASVEL’s player salary is only 4.55 million euros, which is far lower than the European Basketball Federation’s requirements. EuroBasket even has the power to evict it, or shareholders decide not to renew its license.
