Recently, Nets player Michael Porter Jr. talked about former Nuggets head coach Michael Malone on Justin Laboy's channel.
He said: "Michael Malone, I used to be a love-hate relationship. If someone asked him on a podcast, he would say that. Early in my career, we had a few disputes. He was very strict with me and asked me to gain a foothold in the team with my own strength. He was like a real traditional coach, not a player-like coach who tried to get along well with everyone and seemed easy-going - he would have a very strict demand on you."
"I think the NBA has gradually become more and more inclined to coaches like Chauncey Billups and Steve Nash. Players are also beginning to notice how different the relationships are (with these two types of coaches). So, I don't know what exactly caused him to be fired. I just know that I am grateful and respectful for him who gave me a chance."
